Card-making and Swiss Cake Rolls...

Every single day is such an adventure - you never know what God's going to surprise you with! Yesterday evening, as I was opening the mail, I could tell that Scott and I had received a wedding invitation just by looking at the pretty envelope and font, but when I looked at the return address, I kept thinking, "Who do we know that lives in New York?" I was so excited when the invitation turned out to be from a good friend of mine that I knew from Germany! Her name is Brittny, and we used to work together at the craft store on the base... It didn't take us too long to realize that we had quite a bit in common... Besides being about the same size with darker hair and the same kinds of taste in clothing...we also shared a similar background growing up (both military "brats" raised by strict military dads)...and we shared a lot of the same personality quirks and likes and dislikes...(including our love for scrapbooking/card-making and for indulging in Swiss cake rolls! Although, we do differ in our techniques when it comes to eating them: she's a "peeler," and I'm a "chomper" because I eat the whole thing in around 2 bites!) I had just told Scott not two days ago that I really missed her...and wondered how she was doing...and what she'd been up to lately... Ever since moving back to the States, I'd tried to look her up to get back in contact with her and searched far and wide all over the internet for her address or some information connected to her, since I knew she was moving to Georgia... Well, now I know that she's not in Georgia anymore... Brittny and her husband, AJ, are living on Long Island in New York, and I can't wait until her and her hubby get back from their honeymoon (in Aruba!) so that we can start talking once again and catch up on all we've both missed! God is so good! You can never tell what cool things He's got up His sleeves to surprise us with...

A photo of Brittny in downtown Brussels, Belgium...the day we went to eat "mussels in Brussels"... We had such a fun time! Brittny had already been to the city once, so she was a great tour guide...
