Mom took me out to lunch yesterday at a cute little restaurant over in the Northwoods shopping center called "La Madeleine"... I absolutely loved it! The food was SO delicious! And, the atmosphere there has just a hint of reminding me of my days back in Europe... (the way the restaurant's decorated actually brings to mind a place where Scott and I ate in Paris one time...) Here's what I ate (and believe me, I smiled the entire time while I ate, 'cause everything was that tasty!):
- A fresh, flaky croissant with real butter
- A scrumpitous "Quiche Florentine" (the one with spinach and Swiss cheese)
- A small bowl of tomato basil soup
- And, Mom and I shared a wonderful spinach-leaf salad with fresh mushrooms, red bell peppers, crunchy bacon pieces, pecans, and strawberries...all tossed with a light vinegarette dressing...
All I have to say is...
"MMMMMMMMMMMM..."

Steph, that sounds so good! I miss your enthusiasm for food around me. It's so funny because the other day the chef at my restaurant had a leftover french onion soup he asked me if I wanted and i said "No thank you", and he said "What!.. really?" Haha... and I told him I was on a diet. He has actually told me that he loves that about me though- that i'll try everything and I eat with passion! Maybe we should start a little patisserie together! I miss you and I'm glad you had such a good time!

I miss you, too! And your cooking! Like I always said...we made a really good pair, since you love to cook, and I love to EAT! When you come out to visit, we'll have to go to lunch at this place...you'd really like it...*smiles* (and notice I said "when" you come to visit...not "if"...*smiles*)
I love that salad too! You just made me really want a croissant and jelly. Mmm. I am hungry. Oh and I love their Cafe Mochas there. So good.
