Highlights...

So, it's been a while since I last posted anything...and so much has happened! Here are some of the hightlights of the last few days:

1. Third Day's "Christmas Offerings" Tour:

I surprised Scott Thursday evening with tickets to go see Third Day and Jars of Clay in concert over at CBC! I bought the tickets months ago and have been keeping them a secret ever since... He was SO surprised...and we both had such a good time... The concert was wonderful! They posted the words to the songs up on the big screen so everyone could sing along with the carols... But, I think the best part of the whole night was looking over and seeing Scott singing and enjoying himself... Scott's first Christmas present of the season was a success!

2. Dinner and a Movie (or Two):

Friday night, Scott and I enjoyed a nice dinner out at a little Italian restaurant called "Capparelli's"...and then came home and relaxed and watched a couple of movies we rented...with the house all to ourselves...(Dad was at work, and Mom had gone out of town for the weekend to attend a college graduation) It was so nice just getting to spend some quality time together! We hadn't done that in quite a while...

3. The Night for Christmas Parties:

Saturday evening, Scott and I attended two different Christmas parties...one for his work...and another over at a friend's house... The first party was held at "The County Line" downtown... We had dinner with Scott's boss and a bunch of his co-workers and their families... The food was tasty...and the company was pleasant... It was nice getting to meet some of the people Scott spends most of his time each day with...and nice to put faces to names...

For the second party, we drove across town over to our friends', the Huff's, house...where the theme for the evening was "The Ugly Christmas Sweater" party... Scott and I did our best to participate, having gone several days before in seperate trips to find just the "right" sweater for each of us to wear... Scott's sweater reminded me of something the "new" husband on the first "Santa Clause" movie might wear...the psychologist/psychiatrist guy who always had on those awful sweaters! Mine was pretty tacky and definitely "ugly" as well... In fact, it turned out to the be THE ugliest one at the party, so I won first prize - a gift card to Applebee's! (see?! All that patient hunting at the Salvation Army paid off!)

4. "Meet Joe Black:"

Sunday afternoon, Scott and I were enjoying just being lazy...and as we were flipping through the channels, we stopped on the movie "Meet Joe Black"... It was actually our first time watching it... Interesting movie... And, boy did Brad Pitt look good in that tux!

5. Baking Day:

Monday found me in the kitchen from around 11am-4:30pm... Mom and I spent most of the day preparing pounds and pounds of cookie dough to be stored in either the fridge or freezer, so we could bake them over the next few days... I so can't wait! We're making about 6 different types of cookies this Christmas season...and I love them all!

6. Wrapping:

Yep, it's finally time to cover all those gifts with pretty papers and bows! Mom and Dad got started last night while Scott and I were at Bible study, so I have some catching up to do... I love wrapping presents! I love making them look all pretty...and I love seeing them glisten under the tree! (and I do mean "glisten"...Mom always picks out the shiny, metallic print papers...they're so gorgeous!)
